Evaluation - How did you address/attract your audience?

These are some comments from Harry White (Year 7), Ben Woodley (Year 12) and Alex Mwanza (Year 12 Media Student). I have made my magazine to be vibrant, colourful and to stand out. I have done this by putting glows around images and copy. Also Key images help draw in the audience as they would like to read more.

Evaluation - What do you feel you have learnt about the production process that help you approach the full product?

Within this Preliminary Task i have learnt that a great amount of time-keeping is needed. A great amount of my time is needed to make my magazine fit to perfection and will need to use my free time to complete my work to the best of my ability.
Working to deadlines is another key thing for me as this is important to meet, not just to hand my work in, but to have enough spare time for peers and my target audience to look at my work as show me how i could improve it by showing Strengths and Weaknesses of my work. This way i am then able to complete my work to the very best and hit them high grades.
The preliminary task has taught me to take great care in doing research and develop that research so i can bring together all of the strengths from existing magazines and put them in one so the magazine will be uplifting, exciting and professional. I can then point out the weaknesses and aim away from them so i dont come across the same problems, like fonts, colours, images etc. This will be able my target audience to be intrigued by cover lines, masthead and captions.
All these elements i hope to improve on in my final task so my work is at the best of my ability.

Evaluation- Who would be the audience for your media product?

The target audience for my media product will be for a school, teachers, pupils, parents , etc. The school values every aspect of the school community, buildings, staff and pupils. As a Church of England school, members of the church, were pupils go for Easter and Christmas services, may also be interested with the magazine see how the school maintains their Christian ethos and if any volunteers are available for church activities.

Parents are a target audience as they like to see what is happening within the school, change of staff, statistics (exam results), attendance rates, latest news like sport fixtures and cooking club. this will enable the parents to have an insight to the school community and not having the bother of worrying about their children, so it is important to have a professional magazine to so the professionalism of the school.

This magazine will also need to be colourful, with light colours that are bold and stand-out to children around the ages of 12, as they may want to attend Trinity as their secondary school and want to be intrigued and excited about coming to Trinity. Also it has to be exciting for the pupils at Trinity as bulletins are not really acknowledged within the school, Fun and interesting so the pupils will want to read it.
